Head Tracking with the DJI Avata FPV Drone - And Some Other Fun Stuff

I always have so much fun either flying around my First Person View DJI Avata Drone getting that feeling of actually flying, or getting a similar feeling riding my KingSong S22 EUC on trails and in traffic. I know it is a lot different watching versus doing but hopefully this video gives you a bit of an idea on how that feels. Special thanks to my HoverAir X1 Flying Camera Drone and the Ray-Ban Meta Camera Glasses for capturing what it looks like riding an EUC (Electric Unicycle) from different perspectives.

When flying my DJI Avata FPV Drone, I was using head tracking with the motion controller which allows me to control the flight path using the motion controller, while at the same time being able to look around in various directions while still flying which ever direction the motion controller was pointing towards. It does take a bit of practice as at fist it feels like you should be going where you are looking, but this is not the case. This setup allows for more of a "manual controller" look to the video as you can circle an object and center it much better in the camera view than using the motion controller on its own.

Ray Ban Meta Glasses Riding an EUC

I got my Ray Ban Meta AI Camera Glasses not just because they look cool and shade me from the sun. One of the main reasons was to create video content that perhaps I can not make as easily or form a similar point of view as wearing the glasses right on your face so you get to see pretty much exactly what I see.

This is all fine and dandy as long as the video looks and sounds good, and I can actually use the video taken while out and about in a variety of situations. So I figured what better way then to test my Ray Ban Meta AI Smart Glasses while riding my Kingsong KS22 EUC and record a bunch of video with me rambling on in the background.

I have to say I am impressed with not only the video quality including the stabilization and the field of view that was recorded but even when riding fast at speeds up to 60kmh, there was virtually zero wind noise and I can tell you what I was hearing a lot of noise while actually riding so I expected to hear this in the recording which I did not. Very impressive!

The Ray Ban Meta Glasses do only record in portrait mode (at least at this time? which is not ideal for landscape YouTube videos so I took the liberty to show various zoom and pan setting for those that may want to show a wider aspect ratio more suitable for YouTube. Another kind of silly limitation with the Ray Ban Meta Glasses is that you can only record 1 minute videos so I did have to splice together the video which worked just fine as Meta let's me know when the camera is recording and when it's not with an indicator light I can see while wearing them and an audible sound when recording stops.

I can honestly say I was surprised at how well the Ray Ban Meta Glasses worked in this situation and plan to make similar riding videos with them in the future.

Ray Ban Meta Matt Versus Glossy Black

When I made my initial Ray Ban Meta unboxing and initial thoughts video, I mentioned that I wanted to switch them from the sunglass only version lens to the transition lens which is clear while inside but transitions to sunglasses when outside in the sun.

Well I finally got my new Ray Ban Meta transition lens version so I can now compare the two version in terms of how they look since my Transition Ray Ban Metas have the matt black frames and my Ray Ban Meta Sunglass version has the glossy frames. Both versions look good to me but I think I prefer the matt black frames. I for sure prefer the transition lenses as I want to be able to use my Ray Ban Meta AI Smart Glasses all the time, not just outside in the sun.

Brydon Lagoon Langley Dog Walk Ray Ban Meta AI Glasses

I picked up some Ray Ban Meta AI Smart Glasses a bit ago not only for their AI and Smart Features, but to also get some first person perspective videos and photos using the built in HD camera.

Why not give the Ray Ban Meta's a real world test while out walking the dogs at Brydon Lagoon? We'll call this one of my Adventure Videos although it was not a new adventure for us as we have been to Brydon Lagoon many times walking the dogs and they love it.

The Ray Ban Meta shoot video in portrait mode only so I had to play around with the aspect ratios and cropping a bit while editing, as this video was made for YouTube and not so much for other portrait mode social media feeds.

Ray Ban Meta AI Smart Glasses - Unboxing - Setup - Initial Thoughts

I have been using camera glasses of some sort since the beginning with my www.ReplicaAirguns.com channel, starting off with actual ski type goggles that had a built in camera which was not ideal as they were super bulky. I did eventually get some camera glasses that where actual glasses and looked more or less like oversized sunglasses without the dark lenses but they where a big improvement over the ski goggles I was using. For the past 2-3 years I have been using my iVue Vista Camera Glasses for making these videos and they have worked pretty well for the most part but none of the camera glasses I have used in the past have any type of image stabilization which does make for some erratic video head movement.

So when I came across the Ray Ban Meta AI Smart Glasses, which I quickly learned and saw had some decent stabilization in them I thought maybe it's time to upgrade my camera glasses. The Ray Ban Meta AI Smart Glasses also do a lot more than typical Camera glasses. Not only do they have a stabilized 12mp camera with 1080p+ resolution, the Ray Ban Meta AI Smart Glasses has some very good audio for recording and hearing with a 5 mic setup and some actual usable in arm speakers. On top of the superior audio, the Ray Ban Meta's have "Hey Meta" which is like Siri or Google Assistant but it can also tap into Meta AI and do even more in terms of voice commands. You will even be able to look at something and ask Meta what you are looking at and Meta will tell you all about it.

I do hope to use the Ray Ban Meta AI Smart Glasses for a lot more than when I do my Replica Airguns Shooting Videos, I hope to use them for more spontaneous video recording on my www.GetFitOver40.com channel since they are super easy to use and you always have them ready to record.

I did order the Sunglass version but regretted it almost immediately, and so I have ordered the transitions lens version so I can use my Ray Ban Meta's both inside and out. The other negative feature for me is that the video camera records in portrait mode only and for only up to 1 minute in length. I do think I can work with this limitation as the video quality is good enough to allow for zooming and cropping when need be, and I should be able to work around the 1 minute recording time limitation by recording more selectively and simply starting another 1 min video when I need for additional time.

In this Ray Ban Meta AI Smart Glasses video, watch me Unbox, Setup and record some initial videos. I also talk a bit about why I got them and what my initial thoughts are after checking them out.
