Tips to Help You Achieve Your 2019 Health & Fitness Goals

It's that time of year again to make those promises to ourselves that we are going to finally achieve a level of health and fitness we can be proud about! At least that's what we are hoping for yet again...

I know it's hard and many of us even though we have great intentions will ultimately fail and go back to life as it was before. So here are some tips that may help you accomplish your Health and Fitness Goals for reals this time!

Have a Game Plan on Paper:

When you right something down and post it where you can see it everyday, even in multiple locations you will be reminded of that commitment to yourself which makes it a lot harder to give in to old ways.

Be Accountable:

Telling a person you respect or have value in their opinion means not only will be letting yourself down but in a way you feel like you are letting them down. Again this will keep you on track. It can be harder to let others down than even ourselves.

Set Realistic Goals:

This is something to consider when you are figuring out your game plan, don't try and lose too much weight too quickly, or restrict your diet to the point that your feel like you starving. Also set realistic workout goals, it all takes time as long as you are progressing a little week by week you will get to your ultimate goal eventually.

Don’t go Too Big Too Fast.

If you come out of the gates to fast and too hard you will burn out losing interest. Start slow and build on your Game plan, you don"t need to start every commitment day one. Over time as you feel better and better you can add in more workouts days and a stricter diet.

Reward Yourself a Little:

It can't be all work and no play, that's just not fun at all :( Plan to give yourself a reward meal or even day when you have stuck with your diet plan all week. One meal will not blow the entire week and gives you something to look forward to. Maybe plan to go out and buy some new clothing once you lose "x" amount of pounds since your old clothing may not fit you as good any more, sounds like a great excuse to me! Or even plan a reward vacation once you make it to your ultimate Health and fitness final result.

If You Fail at First Try Again, Failure is Not an Excuses to Give Up:

You are going to have good and bad days, even weeks, you may even feel like why bother going on when you failed so hard the week before. This is the time you need to focus and get back to work more than any other time. It is only failure if you decide to stop, setbacks are not failures.

Some new product that I have been eagerly waiting for showed up recently and as always if I get something that I feel my viewers and subscribers may be interested in then I like to share these new toys, gadgets, supplement, fitness products or what have you with everyone.

A company by the name of Onnit reached out to me and sent me some of their supplement product line, they do carry a number of other products including food, fitness clothing and even exercise equipment. Here is a bit about Onnit from their web page:

Another item I have been super excited to receive since I Pre-ordered it a few weeks ago is the DJI OSMO Pocket Camera. The DJI OSMO Pocket supports 4k video at frame rates up to 60 frames per second and 4x Slow-motion at 1080p 120fps. And as the name suggests the DJI OSMO Pocket fights perfectly into your pocket so you have it on hand and ready to go all the time making it the perfect Blogging Camera with its face tracking selfie mode.

FiFine KO26 Wireless Hand-held Microphone Review

You may be asking why a fitness channel is doing a review of a hand-held microphone. Well part of making good video is also making sure you also record great sounding audio! It doesn't matter how Hi-Def the video is, if you can't hear what I'm saying because the audio is all muffled or drowned out by background sounds then you aren't getting much out of the video.

I have done some other audio product reviews before for similar reasons, I figure some of my viewers and followers may also be interested in making their videos sound better even if it's only a home video. When FiFine approached me a second time to review a product for them I quickly asked if I could review their FiFine KO26 Wireless Hand-held Microphone for those time when I do an interview styled video.

In this video review for the FiFine KO26 Wireless Hand-held Microphone I show you what comes in the box and also test out the audio quality while making the video. You will hear various samples of audio from three different recording sources in this video. I start the video out using my Sure Lapel mic while I'm showing you around the FiFine KO26 Wireless Hand-held Microphone, then I briefly switch over to my camera audio and then I finish with the FiFine KO26 Wireless Hand-held Microphone to see how it sounds.

Here are some of the key features and specification for the FiFine KO26 Wireless Hand-held Microphone:

  • 2 YEAR NO QUESTIONS ASKED WARRANTY.
  • Dynamic Mic with Cardioid pickup pattern. Uni-directional pattern & fine-tuned integrated circuit ensure optimal background noise rejection.
  • Frequency response 50-18KHz guarantees clarity of your vocals.
  • Metal construction.
  • USB 2.0 receiver with headphone jack serves as an external sound card for audio output and monitor.
  • Works on Mac, PC, Chromebook, (iOS and Android devices - Require adaptor).
  • UHF (Ultra High Frequency 565-584 MHz) gets longer range and more powerful signal than Bluetooth up to 80 feet away even with obstacles.
  • 20 selectable frequency channels ensures no problems with interference.
  • Easy-to-read LCD screen to indicate battery life and frequency channel.

Get Fit Over 40 December 2018 Update Video

This video focuses on three new products I will be receiving in the near future, two of them to help me make my YouTube videos and one new product to help me out with tracking my fitness. I also talk a bit about what it takes or perhaps I should say what a person needs to make these YouTube videos. Sure you can make a YouTube Video with a basic camera and some sort of topic people will want to listen to but having the right gear to capture higher quality videos does help a lot.

First up on my list of new cool YouTube Video recording devices is the FiFine KO26, this is a wireless hand held Mic that uses a USB dongle styled receiver you can plug into a computer or even a SmartPhone with the correct adaptor. I plan to use the FiFine KO2 Wireless USB Hand Held Mic for on camera interview type situations.

Another product coming that will help me out with my YouTube videos is the DJI OSMO Pocket. You really need to see this thing to understand all that it can do and how small it really is. But in short, it's a mini self contained video recording unit that shoots supper smooth video using its 4k 60 frame per second built in camera mounted on a three access gimble. And yes the DJI OSMO Pocket does fit in your pocket!

Lastly I mention a new Smart Fitness Watch that I ordered to take the place of my Amazfit Stratos. It's not that I am unhappy with my Amazfit Stratos, it's actually the other way around! I am so pleased with my Amazfit Stratos that I want to try out the latest and greatest Amazfit Verge Smart Fitness Watch from Amazfit and see what improvements they have made...

Watch my Get Fit Over 40 December 2018 Update Video for all the details!

TRT - How Much is Too Much?

One of the more common questions asked by people about TRT (Testosterone Replacement Therapy) is how much should they be taking? This is a question asked by people interested in looking into TRT for the first time and even for people that have been on TRT for a while.

A person new to TRT will obviously have a lot of questions since everything is new, while a person that has been on TRT for some time will wonder if their dose is the right amount for them. After all if they feel so much better on TRT then why not try a little bit more and see if they can get even more of those great results!

More is not always better and sometimes the saying "Less is More" is very true when it comes to TRT. There is a range of Testosterone that we should be within, having too little Testosterone in our bodies can cause problems but so can having too much Testosterone. We really want to be in that safe normal but on the high normal range for the best benefits from TRT with the least amount of side effects. Once Testosterone levels start to get too high in our bodies, our natural safety system kicks into effect and tries to adjust or balance out the other hormones like Estrogen and DHT. When you introduce Testosterone into your body some of it converts into Estrogen and DHT which raises Estrogen and DHT levels along with your Testosterone levels. Elevated Estrogen can make you retain water which can raise your blood pressure and also make you feel lethargic and moody and even make you hold on to body fat. If your DHT is on the high side it can speed up any hereditary balding yo may have and also cause skin problems like acne. All side effects we don't want to have.

Simply by keeping your Testosterone in the normal ranges will help to make sure these side effects don't happen. I talk about a lot more in my YouTube video on "TRT - How Much is Too Much?" so make sure to watch it for all the info I have to offer.
