Comica sent me a pretty cool product that is perfect for the person that likes to record video using their Smart Phone which I think is a lot of us. The product I am showcasing today is the Comica CVM-VM10-K2 Multifunction Smartphone Clamp - Microphone - Video Grip - Tripod. It's kind of a jack of all trades setup that helps you take better video and audio incorporating and all-in-one tripod-grip, SmartPhone attachment and high quality ardioid external microphone. This is useful even if all your doing is using it for your home videos. Now if you are a Blogger or YouTuber the Comica CVM-VM10-K2 is going to take your videos to the next level and give you a more professional looking and sounding final product.
It's been about 1.5 weeks since I started trying out the "Carnivore Diet" and to be honest it is only getting better for me as I go... Stomach bloat is gone, energy is up and consistent all day even during workouts. I feel like I am holding a lot less water everywhere, my mood is good in general probably since I usually feel content and not hungry. Cravings for sweets and carbs is not a problem. I also feel like my body is tightening up and getting a bit leaner even though I am not on much of a calorie deficit.
The jury is still not in, it's only been a very short trial so far but I will be committed to this diet for at least a full month. Some small exceptions I have made to make things a bit more compliant to my lifestyle are the following. I do add some spices that will have some vegetable products in them. I do have some rye whiskey (0 carbs) in my diet coke so yes some artificial sweeteners but I am trying not to have a lot of them. I am also using a bit of hot sauce an mustard since both are super low carb and low calorie. I also have included some high fat dairy products like butter, cheese and cream but this is generally OK on the Carnivore Diet since they come from animals.
I look forward to the rest of this month to see what the full effects of a month on the Carnivore Diet will do for me...
I have officially completed my full one month off from Weight training for the purpose of giving my body a well needed rest and also in hopes that my injured shoulder will have enough time to recover.
Today was my first workout and everything felt heavy which kind of goes along with how I feel right now, a bit puny :( That said I still have some muscle and I know my strength will return quickly but I need to ease into it this week. I also gained a bit of fat during this time from less activity. I was careful with my eating but was not super worried about gaining a few pounds of fat. overall I lost weight, about 5 pounds which leads me to think I lost close 10 pounds of muscle while gaining around 5 pounds of fat, all in a month off!
My goal over the next month is to weight 4 days per week fro at least 1 hour per day, I also plan on keeping busy with some other alternative activities on some of my non workouts days to keep the calories burning. I do not have any real expectation on what type of body composition changes will happen in the next month but I do expect to gain some muscle back while losing some fat. I mainly want to have a flexible and balanced lifestyle that I can maintain ongoing.
IN terms of my diet I am trying out the Carnivore Diet which is all the craze these days. It's kind of like the Keto Diet but with more focus on meats and less on fats with no carbs at all, so no veggie, pasta, brad, potatoes rice or sweets of any kind. You can add in some dairy if your body is OK with it.
So that's kind of what's going on with me right now, in a month we will see what kind of changes take place adn if this new Carnivore Diet works out well for me...
In this late August GetFitOver40 Update video I talk about my time off from weight training to let my body heal up. It has been a long time since I took more than a week of form lifting weights so it has been kind of weird for me but I know it will benefit me long term even if I lose some mass short term. I am currently at three week of no weight lifting and plan to go an entire month without hitting a gym. I have been doing a lot of walking and a little bit of bike ridding which I feel has kept my leg mass decent but I am noticing some upper body muscle loss especially in my shoulders which I normally have to train a ton to grow.
After my one month of no weight training is done I will head back to the gym 4 days per week with my plan to hit each muscle group twice per week. Muscle memory I am hoping will kick in and I should regain most of my lost muscle fairly quickly.
I also talk a bit about some of the review items on my list. I have not forgotten about them, I have just been testing them out and getting some sample video and audio for my review videos. I am actually using the DJI Spark and my FiFine Headset Mic to record this video so make sure to watch it if you are interested in these products.I was actually very impressed with how well my DJI Spark Drone handled itself on this fairly windy day.
I mentioned in one of my earlier videos that I was testing out a product called the Kor Plus which is a water bottle that delivers magnesium, electrolytes potassium, calcium and even adjusts your water to a 9+ Alkalinity as you drink it using a filter system. Anyway I did not have a lot of luck with this product because it requires a fair amount of suction to get the water through the filter and I am juts not patient enough since I like to down my water quickly. Because of this I am getting my more patient wife Nicole to test out the Kor Plus since I do feel it's a pretty cool product even if its not the best fit for me.
This test of the DJI Spark Mini Drone was done more from the perspective of using it for my ReplicAirguns.com airguns channel but I do plan to use My DJI Spark Mini Drone to record and follow me in a similar way when I use it for GetFtiOver40.com videos. The method I use in this video doesn't even require a remote control or smartphone and I can have it take off right out of my hand.
I then use hand gestures to control the DJI Spark Drone to do things like: Place the drone in the right starting location, make the DJI Spark start recording video, have the Spark zoom up and out from me for an "eye in the sky" aerial follow me mode and then of course when I am finished what I want it to record have the DJI Spark return to me and land again on my hand. Again all of this without even taking the remote out of the box or even using a smartphone to control the DJI Spark Mini Drone!
Watch me test out the DJI Spark Mini Drone in my backyard while I shoot some of my Airguns at miscellaneous targets while I walk around and have the DJI Spark follow me while recording video.
