HoverAir X1 ProMax with Beacon and Controllers - Initial Thoughts and Flights

I am making this video for both my channels (GetFitOver40 & Replica Airguns) since I will be using the HoverAir X1 ProMax in my Video making process to capture video in a way that only an AI Drone can. I do like to share with my audiences some of the tech I use behind the scenes to make the videos a bit more interesting.

There is a ton to talk about and show when it comes to the HoverAir X1 ProMax which is why this video is a bit on the longer side. I really wanted to talk about what I like about this amazing flying video system, and of course show the super high quality video it takes.

The purpose of this video is not so much to go over all the specifications and details, or to compare it to other similar products, but rather to go over what I like about it, and why I decided to get one for myself. About a year ago I ordered the HoverAir X1 Pro when it was being crowdfunded, but I backed out of my order when the DJI Neo came out, mainly because the DJI Neo was first to market, and it can also fly in true FPV mode which really appealed to me. I am glad I got the Neo as it has been so much fun, and will be keeping it mainly for its FPV flying and versatility.

Why did I decide to get myself the HoverAir X1 ProMax? There is really nothing out there right now that can take as high quality video (8k) in such a small and portable package. I love the AI flying modes but it is also nice you can use the Beacon with the Joysticks to control it just like a regular Drone.

For me it was the ultra high video quality, the faster tracking speeds, and the ability to use it like a standard drone since all my other drones are more or less FPV drones. Oh yah, I also got a crazy deal on it over on Marketplace (About half price).

Turned 56 Years Old - 3 Months Out From the Vancouver Open

So I turned 56 this past Saturday April 5th. This birthday thing is starting to get old, a bit like me I guess. To be honest, I really don't care all that much as long as I feel good and I'm taking care of myself and the way I look. My modeling days are over, well they never really ever began, my bodybuilding days still seem to be hanging in there but my health is first and foremost.

As of April the 5th, I am three months and one week out from the Vancouver Open Regionals, the real contest prep will start three months out but I am on track for sure. I figure I am somewhere in the single digit body fat percentage, probably the mid to high 9% which means I need to lose around 10 pounds of fat and put on 5 pounds of muscle. This is pretty standard contest prep numbers for me and three months gives me lots of time to get there. I am right around 195 pounds currently so adding 5 pounds of muscle and losing 10 pounds of fat should put me right at 190 pounds, this will be my weigh in weight which will go up a bit as I carb up to probably around 195 pounds on stage. That's the plan for now but we are a ways out so the actual numbers may be a little bit different.

Wifey Tries FPV with DJI NEO in Fort Langley

The Wifey and I went for a nice walk down in Fort Langley, it was a really nice day and I brought some of my FPV Drones with me to out up in the air and fly. I brought my DJI Avata 2 which is a beast of a drone, it's fast, fairly agile and the camera is amazing in it as you'll see from the video. I took the DJI Avata 2 for the first flight of the day and then kind of forced the Wifey to give FPV a try using my DJI Neo with the Motion Controller which allows anyone to fly a DJI FPV Drone in minutes.

She did pretty good and now has a good basic idea on how it all works. It can be a bit intimidating at first especially when you don't know the location so well. After her flight we walked back to the main village area and I put my tiny BetaFPV Meteor65 Pro with DJI 04 Light for a quick cruise to see what was going on. That was a short flight as smaller drones use really small batteries and have a lot shorter flight times. My camera mount on the Meteor65 Pro was missing a rubber bushing so I did get a lot more vibration than usual in the video but it still looks pretty good.

It Begins - 2025 Vancouver Open - 56 Years Old - Post Open Heart Surgery

So it begins yet at least one more time! Last year I did a show called the 2024 Vancouver Open Regionals and competed in the regionals which is "Open" to everyone, no qualifications required. I competed in Classic Physique 45+ along with Physique 40+ and Physique Open.

The goal of this show for me was to see how my body would respond now after the open heart surgery and to see if I could get anywhere near being somewhat competitive on stage. I did end up placing 3rd in Classic Physique 45+ and 3rd place in Physique Open, which I was happy with but more importantly I was very happy with how my body responded to the contest prep as it is very stressful on the body and I have to say this contest prep was probably one of the easiest and most comfortable I have ever done.

That brings us to this year and I have decided to compete again at this years Regional Vancouver Open which is on July 12th, so that gives me over 3 month to contest prep which is perfect. Last year I only had around 5-6 weeks to prep and my starting weight was 185 pounds with a body fat percentage in the high 9%. Right now I weigh 195 pounds with a body fat percentage in the mid to high 8% so I am in a much better starting place with an extra 10 pounds yet around the same body fat percentage.

With all that in mind my expectations for this years Regional Vancouver Open will be much the same as last year. Which is first and foremost to not stress my body out too much and to come in highly conditioned and with as much muscle as is healthy and realistic to expect, knowing that I can not rely on drugs to do much of the work for me. I am just not willing or prepared to jeopardise my health for a plastic trophy a the end of the day. This means I will more than likely not be holding as much muscle as some of the guys that have less to risk, so I will have to focus a lot more on conditioning to make the muscle I do have look as good as possible.

Hopefully at this years show the judges will be awarding conditioning a bit more than last year as in my opinion they were looking more for size over conditioning based on what I saw in the judging and placing of those on stage.

If at any point I do not feel good or have any health concerns I will be shutting down contest prep, but I am confident that it will go well this time around as I do have more time and can take things slow and adjust along the way.

Half Life and How it Affects Your TRT

When you take a medication it is always good to have a basic understanding of what that particular medications "Half Life" is. Half Life is the amount of time it takes for the medication you are taking to reach its halfway point, so in other words when it becomes half as effective or there is only half of it left in your system. Some medications have a very short Half Life, like 12 hours while some medications can have a Half Life of several weeks. The shorter the Half Life, the quicker the medication gets into you body, but that also means you need to take a short Half Life medication more often.

Typically your doctor will give you instructions so you don't really need to know the Half Life time as the doctor will tell you how much and how often to take the medication prescribed with half life being considered. I still think it's good to know what's going on with any medication, especially when you are going on it or off of it as Half Life will determine how quickly that medication gets into your system and how long it will take if and when you stop using it to get out of your body fully.

In this video I talk about TRT and how not all Testosterone is the same when it comes to Half Life time, and how the Half Life time can change how quickly you feel the effects not only going on the TRT but also if you decide to come off.
