4 Weeks Out - WC Iron Vancity Showdown

It's now about a month out from the West Coast Iron Vancity Showdown or in other word weeks out and it's time to get serious about my Contest Prep. I've been fairly on track so far but the last couple of weeks had their challenges with two separate mini vacations.

The first was a two day get away with my Wife Nicole into Downtown Vancouver where we stayed at the WorldMark Canadian and did some downtown activities that involved a lot of walking and of course some wining and dining.

Shortly after the entire family hopped in the truck and we headed over to Ucluelet on Vancouver Island where we stayed at the Black Rock Oceanfront Resort. This was a three day vacations that again involved some walking and eating :)

Overall I did fairly well in terms of damage control while on  vacation but obviously I did not make as much contest prep progress as I would have if I was at home without and had better control over my diet and exercise. All in all I feel I am still on track but need to be on point from this point on.

I do have one more get away that involves a friends 50th birthday in Whistler BC but by that point I plan to be contest ready and with a full week afterwards to dial things in even more if needed.

What You Should Really Be Worried About

It’s been a while since I posted a Covid-19 related post but lately I see more and more people wearing masks, even when they’re completely by themselves walking on a sidewalk or in their cars.

So if all you can think about right now is catching Covid or dying from Covid, here are some other things you should probably be more worried about…

So far here in Canada with a population of 37.5 million people around 9,000 people have died from Covid or at least “said to have died from Covid”.

Keep in mind the average age of Covid deaths where I live in Canada BC is 85 years old while the average age of death in BC is only 80 years old. Covid victims are actually dying on average older than when they normally would had died so perhaps Covid-19 is extending their live by as much as 5 years??? Go Figure!!!

OK, so here we go with things more likely to kill you than Covid-19 here in Canada…

  1. Cancer: 80,000 people died of cancer in 2018. So almost 10 times more people than Covid!

  2. Cardiovascular Disease: 53,000 Canadians died from heart disease in 2018.

  3. Car Accidents: 13,300 people died from car accident in 2018. I am sorry to say that while you are wearing your mask in the car it will not save you from a car accident, it might even distract you and cause a car accident!

  4. The Common Flu: OK this one is about on par with Covid going back to 2018 stats at around 8,500 death from the flu in Canada. Were you worried about dying from the flu back in 2018? Probably not so why so scared now?

  5. Suicide: In 2018 nearily 4,000 people died from suicide so about half of those that have died from Covid in 2020 but this was when life was good and we where not all unemployed isolated alcoholics and opioid addicts. Well, maybe not all of us are in that boat but many more are than ever before and this will take its toll on human life in the form of suicides and related drug and alcohol overdoses.

You go ahead and wear your mask if it makes you feel safer but keep in mind there are so many better ways of increasing your odds of not dying like simply eating better and staying active.

It Begins... 6 Weeks Out from the West Coast Iron Vancity Showdown

A quick update in terms of contest prep for this year. I kind of eluded to a possible show this year. The only real show I can even do that is local would be the West Coast Iron Vancity Showdown being held here in Vancouver BC Canada. It is a regional show being held on the weekend of the 10th and 11th of October and so far it looks like the show is still moving forward. Let's hope it does not become another victim of Covid and get cancelled!

Right now I am about 6 weeks out from the show and I feel right on target as to where I need to be, I have been chipping away at losing a bit of body fat for the past several months just in case I was able to do a show and as far as my condition 6 weeks out I am probably a bit leaner than I usually am. I may not be as full as I have been in the past but that's OK I plan to add just a little bit of muscle where I need to and trim as much fat as I can so it really shows on stage. Being the most conditioned goes a long way and my experience is it's better to be super sharp then bulky but soft on stage.

Anyway here is what I currently look like 6 weeks out. There is still a lot of work to do but I feel confident I will come in top of my game for the WC Iron Vancity Showdown. In terms of classes I plan to enter Men's Open Physique and Classic Physique. I always love competing with the guys half my age, it really give me a lot of incentive to bring my very best.

Heart to Heart Talk

In this video I talk about my feelings on my latest Get Fit Now Training program and how I feel it all went in the end. I talk about some background information most people are probably not aware of in terms of how I went about marketing this training program and I go over the pros and cons to the way I went about selling this program.

At the end of the day I feel I put together a really solid Video Training Program that has a ton of information packed into it and that it addresses the bulk of the issues most people are going through trying to get Healthy and Fit. I'm not sure if the way I marketed it this time around was the way to go for the kind of person I am but it was all a great learning experience and I now have a really awesome product that I will be repackaging in a new format down the road.

To be notified about any future offerings of my Get Fit Now Training make sure to add your email to the email wait-list to be notified.

Q&A How to Get Started Right now

First things first, a massive thank you to each and every one of you who watch my video series so far! I couldn’t be more humbled by all the messages and emails from our community of Over 40 Health and Fitness followers. You’re all amazing!

Seriously. With that being said, if you have sent me a message and I haven’t gotten back to you, I’m really sorry about that. My inbox has been busy.

But not to worry. My last video in my free 6-part video series is live and I cover all your questions

Some common ones were:

  • Is your Get Fit Now Training suitable for beginners or if the course is only for more advanced people?
  • Do I need to be over 40 to benefit from your Get Fit Now Training Program?
  • Will I need any fancy equipment to get results?

You can watch it here.

So, if you’ve signed up for the early-bird waitlist you’re lucky because your chances of getting a spot are a lot higher. Again I’ll only be taking a small handful of new client and working with them side by side to optimize their Health and Fitness Results.

If you’re not signed up to the early-access waitlist, you still have a little bit of time to sign up here.

But on a more important note here's how to make sure you get a spot:

  1. Make sure you're on the early-bird waiting list here
  2. Open your inbox on Sunday August 16th.
  3. Refresh your inbox until you receive the early-bird registration email.
  4. Open the email, click on the link and secure your spot asap.

If you follow these exact instructions you should have no problems getting into the program. But really make sure you sign up on Sunday August 16th.

It might be a good idea to set up a reminder on your phone so you don't miss the deadline. There's going to be a rush to the registration page on Sunday, so make sure you're one of the first to visit the signup page and lock in your spot.

Hopefully, you can make it into program.

In case you’ve missed some videos in my free 6-part video series or you would like to go back and rewatch the series, you can catch the replays of the videos on this page here.

I can’t believe how much I’ve covered so far with you all. It’s been seriously amazing to share this with the over 40 Fitness community.

That being said, I can’t wait to knock it out of the park with all of the new Clients and help you create life changing results that no amount of money can buy!

It’s going to be a real game-changer!
